It's been more than two years since a litter was whelped at Nysa Hill, and we're thrilled to announce that handsome special Percy, GCh Destiny Pursuit of Happiness at Nysa Hill, has sired his first pups, born April 28, 2013.
Percy finished his championship briskly, taking Best Best-Bred-by-Exhibitor honors and Group Second at only seven months and again as a yearling. He nabbed multiple Best of Breed wins over top specials as a youngster, then AWC Specialty Best of Opposite Sex to his lovely granddam Moxi at Lompoc as she won her record-breaking SBIS in 2011. The respected Breeder-Judge was Thomas Munch (Flic-Flac, Germany) and the entry was 107. Percy's athletic elegance and engaging biddability continue to earn this stallion breed wins and accolades from a host of hound specialists.
Dam Tempest (Nysa Hill Tempestuous Fire) has been making waves of her own, from her high placements at the Lexington AWC National Futurity and Regular classes, to wins and major reserves from the Bred-By-Exhibitor classes in California. Tempest was part of the "Rise From Fire" litter born after the two wildfires here in 2008 and 2009. Her smooth S-curves, powerful gait, large dark eyes, supple strength and condition exemplify the best of her ancestors.
At their respective homes, Percy and Tempest are affectionate whippets who love to cuddle with their humans, and romp with their canine pals. As resident hostess at Nysa Hill's resort, Tempest has buddies from a Great Pyrenees to a Puli, and many rescues and "All-Americans." In addition to her ring work, we plan to pursue therapy dog work with Tempest in the manner of Maya, who is now retired.
